Out of Order

Well, even though it was not in the correct developmental order, I have officially started crawling. Mommy is finally relieved and now she can quit worrying. The problem is that now she makes me crawl at least 3-4 paces each time I fall while walking, before she helps me stand back up.

Here I am trying to push my wheelbarrow and walk at the same time. That is a tricky one that I have not perfected just yet. In the second pic, I am up close, and personal.

I am not sure why mommy chose this photo, I guess because I am showing a little plumber's crack. If she had bought me the correct short size I would not have this problem. She should be proud that I can now bend over and pick things up without falling down.

My new night time snack is either yogurt or pudding. I must say, I prefer chocolate, and the more that gets on my face the better. In the second picture mommy and I are just being silly.

In this photo I am staring intently at Wheel of Fortune. It is one of my favorite shows. I think its the colors on the wheel that I am taken with. Of course mommy thinks I like it because she was on the show back in her college days. The show can only keep my attention for so long before I have to go back to my favorite thing, just toddling around.

Another thing I have learned is running (okay, just a brisk walk) and then a hand off of the football. Daddy is so proud!

Mommy finally got me some new tennis shoes since she found out I need a size 4 and she has been cramming my foot into a size 2. She should have known that's why I was always kicking them off. Thing is, I still prefer no shoes most of the time. That is why my socks are on the floor and my shoes are in my grocery cart.

I am REALLY a BIG BOY now!!!

I know everyone will find this kind of crazy but.........I am already going pee pee in the big boy potty. Yes, that's right, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Mommy decided to buy me a potty because each night at bath time, I joke with her that I won't sit in the water until I can watch myself go pee pee in the water. So, she bought me this really neat potty. It plays music each time I go and it even has a flush too. I find it so fascinating and to date I have went pee pee 6 times. And yes, I am doing it like a real man, standing up each time!!
The back of the tank is a great place to hold onto for balance too!

Play Dates

Since Mommy was off work all week, she scheduled lots of outings for me. I have had 2 playdates in 2 days. What a treat. In this first picture, I went to the Nixa pool for splash time, a picnic, and playing on the playground with my friends Claire and Amelia. I sure had fun with them. Sam and Eli were supposed to come too, but Sam got sick. What a bummer.

The jungle gym was so fun! Of course I wanted to try it out on my own, but mom had to slide down the slide with me. Amelia and I loved the swings too.

In the first picture I am so excited about Luke's arrival for my second playdate that I had to start dancing. Luke is just a little guy, but I liked to pat him in his pumpkin seat. We had lots of fun, and I must say our mommy's sure do like to flap their jaws when they are around each other.

In the second picture Luke was all smiles!! I am sure it was because I was making him laugh!
In this picture I am getting ready for my 9 month doctor's appointment. I had to get all dressed up in case there were any chicks there that were my age. Of course the waiting room was empty, but Dr. Hampton and nurse Mia sure thought I was a cutie. I found out that my excessive need to be walking 24/7 has made my legs a little more buff and not such hams. I am only in the 50th percentile now for my weight and I was exactly 20 lbs. I got a clean bill of health and when I got home, mommy learned that her friend Rachel had given birth to Katelyn while we were at the doctor. Now there is another BSB baby in the group and a possible hook up for me in the future.

More Summer Fun!

My second trip swimming was a long ways away......in my own backyard. Boy was it fun.

After swimming I got to air dry on my swing!

I have started making funny faces for the camera. Mommy thinks that is only for older kids, but I have it mastered!!

Here I am playing with my dump truck that is almost as big as I am. It is especially fun when Daddy pushes me around the house in it. I just giggle and giggle.
More goofy faces for the camera.

Happy Father's Day Dad

To follow up with my Top Ten List last month, I thought I would follow suit for the month of June as a tribute to dad for Father's Day so here goes:

The Top 10 Reasons I am just like my dad:

1. I purse my lips just like dad (and grandpa Cheek for that matter).

2. I love to go to sleep with something over my eyes....daddy uses a pillow, but I find that my burp rag that I am showing you does the trick.

3. I love to sprawl out on the carpet. Daddy does it while watching TV, but I do it just about anytime.

4. Just look at this face....as our friend Todd says....I'm Stevie Jr.

5. I love mommy's cooking, just like daddy. That's why she teases us both that we have jelly bellies.

6. I have started closing my eyes for pictures. I am doing it on purpose, but dad does it by accident every time.

7. My poo can just about knock mommy out....just like daddy!
(Mommy said no picture for this one)

8. I love to drink tons of liquid (Daddy's beverage of choice is Dt. Dew, however water is just great for me)

9. We both love the Cardinals. Here we are heading out to my first Springfield Cardinals game.

10. When I toot and burp, I giggle hysterically. (Learned that from Dad too and once again no picture)

I love my dad so much. Just like Rodney Atkins song says, I am your buckaroo...I wanna be just like you. Happy Father's Day dad. Love Hayden

A Weekend of Firsts

Mom and I decided to give daddy an early Father's Day present. Here I am giving dad the package. Mommy and I picked it out and the most exciting part was that part of the present was for me too.

Mommy got daddy and I matching Cardinals hats. We needed them for my first Springfield Cardinals game we went to the next night.

In the first picture daddy and I are posing in our Cards hats before we head out for the game and then the second picture is all 3 of us at the game. Let's just say I was a little overwhelmed when we entered Hammon's Field. With all the people and the loud announcer on the PA, I was really clinging to mommy.

Another first at the ball game was my first taste of a lemon ice. Boy was that a treat!! In the second picture, I showed my disbelief of one of the umpire's bad calls.

Another first this past weekend was my first trip to the neighborhood pool. I got all dressed in my Diego swimming diapers, lathered in lotion and headed out. I was a little teary eyed in the beginning, but by the end I was enjoying it.

My favorite part of the pool was soaking up the water in the squishy ball and then drinking it out. Mommy was not to happy I liked that so much. Mommy and I needed our shades on so we would not have squinted and smiled so big in all the pictures. Next time daddy has to get in with me.....even if he claims he can't because of his white legs and belly!
